Alex Cunningham

Alex is one of our regular bloggers, with a great enthusiasm for both walking and travelling. Having grown up in the Welsh mountains, hiking has been a part of her life for almost as long as she has been able to walk, and she now enjoys seeing what walking opportunities the wider world has to offer. Her most memorable hiking experience was in the Canadian Rockies although her heart always brings her back to Wales.

As specialists in England walking holidays and walking holiday throughout the UK we can reassure you that the really are some magnificent places for you to explore which are literally right on your doorstep. We are blessed to live in a country with such varied topography, stunning landscapes and at times perfect walking weather which is neither blistering sunshine nor driving rain! As a consequence, as pointed out in an article in The Guardian newspaper, holidaymakers are now choosing to take their holidays nearer to home. It is regrettable that global politics can have such a drastic effect on so many innocent people who have no wish to become involved in what to many of us seems a cause which is hard to understand. Nor here at Celtic Trails do we have any wish to be seen to be taking advantage of this change in holiday destination. Instead we simply want to take the opportunity of pointing out that should you choose to holiday in the UK, it is definitely not all bad news.

For those of you who’d like to ‘get away from it all, walking holidays are absolutely perfect and, of course it doesn’t have to be for 7 or 14 days. Almost like a ‘try before you buy’ a walking weekend at any number of superb destinations in the UK can give you a taste for an area you may choose to explore further on a much longer UK walking holiday.

To find out more about the full range of walking holidays available throughout the whole of the UK, why not give us a call here at Celtic Trails?
