Arrive in Sorrento via public transport (bus or train).

Arrive on the island of Capri, via the ferry from Sorrento (own arrangement/cost). Public transport on the island where required is also your own arrangement/cost.Choose between two walks – one with an optional extension.Walk A: circular walk to Tiberio’s Roman Villa Jovis (3.3 miles/ 5.3km)Atop the second highest peak, within a secluded part of the island, encounter the luxury retreat of the Emporer Tiberius before the route joins a clifftop path, offering sweeping views over the Gulf of Naples.Walk B: coastal walk from Anacapri to Punta Carena (4 miles/ 6.5km)A clifftop route with far-reaching views over the Mediterranean, the stack of Faraglioni, the Gulf of Naples and the cliffs between Monte Saloro and Punta Carena. Return by bus to Anacapri and change bus to reach Capri or Marina Grande.Walk C: Punta Carena to Blue Grotto (optional 3.7 miles/ 5.9km extension)This path clings to the coast, one of the most spectacular trails on the island, with views over the coast from the cliffs and 19th century military forts. From end of walk take bus to AnacapriLate afternoon ferry return to Sorrento.

Today’s walk loops around the wild and rugged beauty of the bay, following rocky trails along the coast in this conservation area. The area is tucked out of the way, well off the tourist trail and the bay itself is ideal for a swim after a long day out walking.

Private transfer from Marina del Cantone to Sant'Agata. Old country lanes, olive and lemon groves make up the walking routes through the hills of the Colli San Pietro – an inland walk with views high above the shoreline. This is one of the most pastoral routes, with wild flowers and Mediterranean fauna overrunning the path edges. Public bus from end of walk to Amalfi (own arrangement/cost)

Public bus from Amalfi to Bomerano (own arrangement/cost) From Bomerano to the vibrant mountainside village of Positano, ‘The Path of the Gods’ is possibly the most renowned of all walking routes on the Amalfi Coast, its dramatic panoramic views from the clifftops being one of the most memorable experiences of walking this route. There is a choice of walks today.Option A:Pontone-Pogerola-Amalfi - a shorter but more demanding walk via Madonna dei Fuondi Sanctuary which follows inland paths through the Valle delle Ferriere park, passing by ancient mills and rivers with hidden views of the villages below.Option B:Pontone-Pogerola-Amalfi above the Valle delle Ferriere with wonderful views of the bay of Salerno and the clifftops of the Amalfi Coast
