Path Walkthrough
Walkers can expect a route comprised of field paths skirting the edge of woodland through kissing gates, forest tracks and pastures. Road walking is kept to a minimum, most being on entering and leaving the region's towns and villages. As you follow The Cotswold Round, you'll notice that the path will weave through and join other established walking routes, including The Cotswold Way.
On your way you'll find plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the far-reaching views of the countryside as you make your way up hills and out into wide open clearings. As you make your way around the country and into the towns and villages your path bypasses the old abbeys, churches and historic estates that make up the scenery of this quintessentially English landscape.

"Celtic Trails covers all the bases, quality accommodation. Go for it!"
"The Cotswold Round was easy to do, we enjoyed a lot of amazing landscapes, we saw beautiful villages and an incredibly beautiful countryside. This was our second walking holiday with Celtic Trails. I think that the organisation is excellent."
"Penny was great at customizing our trip and making the Cotswolds Round work with our time frame. We would describe the trip as excellent and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to walk. Celtic Trails reduces the anxiety of planning, so that you can just enjoy the walk. You can have an adventure without a lot of stress. The landscape of the Cotswolds was gorgeous, and one big garden, and the trip was an experience of a lifetime (unless we go on another Celtic Trails walk). Well arranged and easy to do, while still feeling like we were individuals and on our own. Allows you to be spontaneous because you have a reassuring structure."
"Our holiday was very well organized, good documents with all the details."
"As each day came to a close, we were proud of what we had accomplished. This type of trip was definitely outside of my comfort zone so I have a real sense of accomplishment. The taxi transfers worked out beautifully."
"Fairly easy to follow self guide with great service before the trip and accommodating with our requests. Plus both walks I have taken with you, the instructions have made every effort to avoid roads so we could enjoy all of the nature available."

Points of Interest
Chipping Campden
Chipping Campden is simply a perfect Cotswold town. The town's Church of St James, one of the finest in the Cotswolds, was built in the 15th century, financed by merchants who bought wool from Cotswold farmers and exported it at high profit.
The oldest house in Chipping Campden is believed to be Grevel House built by William Grevel c1380. Found in the High Street, Grevel House is the oldest in a fine row of buildings, and is distinguished by a double-storey bay window.
Stanway House
The magnificent triple gabled Jacobean Gatehouse of Stanway House is a prominent feature of the walk into Stanway village.
Richard Tracy bought the manor in 1533 and three generations of the Tracy family created the wonderful manor house, and the gateway was created by Sir Richard Tracy, in 1630. Stanway House is located on the Winchcombe to Stanton and Winchcombe to Broadway sections of both itineraries.
