Itinerary Details
Your holiday begins in the town of Alquézar at a traditional hotel located right in the heart of the village. Alquézar is one of Spain’s most beautiful villages, with lots of historical buildings to see. Those who arrive earlier in the day can take a circular walk around the village, or you may prefer to relax with a glass of wine on the hotel’s terrace or by the pool.
- AccommodationAlquézar
You first day of walking provides the option of two circular walks. The longer walk, taking 6 hours, will take you to world famous prehistoric caves and cave paintings in Vero River Cultural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with views out to the Pyrenees. Those looking for a gentler start can take a shorter 4 hour walk through the Rio Vero Gorge, past olive and almost orchards and over two historic bridges. Both walks take you back for a second evening in the village of Alquézar.

From there, you pass by the ruins and old dam at Letosa, before reaching the village of Otin for a lunchtime drink. Today you start to head south again as you begin your return to Alquezar.
