Soak in your surroundings in this lovely hotel with spa facilities and beautiful bedroom views of the surrounding landscape.
- AccommodationVilaflor
For your first day of walking, you will be taking in some of Tenerife’s famous volcanic landscape. A taxi will pick you up from your accommodation and take you north into the National Park. From here, you will begin a gentle 4 hour walk back to your hotel in Vilaflor, through volcanic and lunar landscape.
Circular Vilaflor : Paisaje Lunar
Ascent: 475 m Descent: 675 m Highest Point: 1960 m- AccommodationVilaflor
Teide is Spain’s highest peak (3,718m) and day 3 offers the opportunity to visit its peak. A taxi will take you to Cañadas del Teide, an enormous volcanic crater at the foot of the mountain. From here you can take a cable car up to 3,200m, enjoying wonderful views of the island on your way up. At the top of the cable car, an hour’s walk will take you up to a spectacular vista point, with the option of walking for an additional hour to reach the mountain’s peak (NB: A National Park permit is needed for this, which will need to be booked in advance). You will then take the cable car back to the bottom, where an hour’s walk around the crater will take you directly to your next accommodation right on the crater’s edge. Those with more energy have the option of also completing a 2 hour circular walk that explores the landscape around your accommodation, known as Roques de Garcia. Tonight’s accommodation includes a lovely home cooked meal.Optional afternoon walk 3 to 4 miles.
Mount Teide
- AccommodationLas Cañadas del Teide
Staying in the Teide National Park, day 4 is one of the more challenging days. Today you will ascend 550m up Guajara, Tenerife second highest peak. Whilst challenging, this 5 hour return route offers wonderful views across the whole of the southern side of the island, as well as El Teide and the crater. At the end of the day, you can relax in the same hotel, enjoying its swimming pool, sauna and private gardens.
Pico Guajara
Ascent: 500 m Descent: 500 m Highest Point: 2730 m- AccommodationLas Cañadas del Teide
Today’s walk is mostly downhill, from the base of Chinyero Volcano to the seaside village of Garachico. If the descent seems too much, you can ask your taxi to drop you off at La Montañeta, reducing the distance and steepness. You’ll finish in the historic town of Garachico, once the capital of Tenerife, until it was partially destroyed by lava in the 1706 eruption of Volcán Trevejo. Don’t miss the natural swimming pools by the harbour!
Aguamansa
Ascent: 965 m Descent: 965 m Highest Point: 1452 m- AccommodationGarachico
Today you have a choice of walks across the hilly terrain of Tenerife’s western cape, Punta de Teno. This remote and quiet part of the island is a protected area and is surrounded by spectacular sea views and a unique and interesting mix of fauna. The first option takes you up through open woodland and along ravines until you reach a beautiful vista point, which on a good day offers views over to the island of La Gomera. Alternatively on days that are windy or particularly hot, there is the option of a slightly longer but more shaded route towards equally good viewing points. At the end of the day a taxi will take you back to your accommodation in Garachico.

For the final day of your holiday, a taxi will take you north-east to the Anaga Park, a protected area, which many believe to be the most beautiful part of Tenerife, full of laurisilva woods and deep ravines. There is the choice of two walks, a shorter steeper route, or a longer more gentle one. At the end of your walk, a taxi will take you to your next accommodation in the charming historical town of San Cristobal de Laguna. Afterwards you may wish to explore this lovely town or relax in the comfort of your lovely hotel with its own spa facilities.
