Itinerary Details

You will be transferred a short distance to the start of your walk which then carries you over the unmistakeable hills of the Lawley, Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler on the eastern side of Church Stretton. There are great views over the surrounding area, the town and across to the Long Mynd on the opposite side, where you will walk the following day. The Lawley is arguably one of the best ridge walks in the Shropshire Hills, and combined with the popular Caer Caradoc and the summits on Hope Bowdler Hill, this makes for a great day's walking.

The next day's walking is on the Long Mynd, the large and long plateau on the western side of Church Stretton. There are no transfers on this day and is a circular walk starting and ending from the centre of town. The walk takes you gradually up to the summit of the Long Mynd, Pole Bank at 516 metres/1693 feet, via Shooting Box, one of sixteen Bronze Age burial mounds found on the Mynd, before you descend back down a deep valley (hollow) towards Little Stretton and then back to Church Stretton to complete a circular route.

The Stiperstones, a National Nature Reserve, together with Long Mynd make up the largest area of heathland in the Shropshire Hills and attract plenty of wildlife. At the end of your walk you are transferred back to Church Stretton to complete your walking break.
